News from the Board

Greetings EOEE 4th Day:

What a summer we have enjoyed. God blesses us with sun, warmth, flowers, greenery, and an opportunity to enjoy all that He has created.

A few weeks ago, we were able to enjoy a time of fellowship, praise, and food at our 3rd annual summer celebration. It was fantastic! I would like to thank the following people and groups who made the celebration a tremendous success: our Post-Walk Committee of Deb Rupert, Deb Ferry, and Luke Pahanish, Sean Cristea and his fellow musicians and
singers, our speaker, Daniela Archer, our cooks, our tech people, and a host of other volunteers. Thanks also to the local businesses that donated food items. The venue was great, the food was great, the music was great, the speaker was great, the fellowship was fantastic. Mark your calendars as we are starting to plan for our 45th Anniversary in August of 2027.

Teams for our Women’s and Men’s October walks have begun their team meetings. Please lift the Walk #108 teams up in prayer as they prepare for their weekend events. You can also sign up for the 24-hour prayer vigil, begin preparing agape for the team and pilgrims (table, general, food, and personal), and plan to attend Candlelight and closing.

We have 14 women and 5 men signed up for the fall walks. Please pray for these pilgrims and the others that are to come. I strongly encourage each of you to consider sponsoring a pilgrim. Remember our “Why”. Our Emmaus Why is to renew Christian disciples and strengthen our local churches. Think of someone that you know that could use their
Christian discipleship path enhanced and their church strengthened. We will have a sponsorship training class before our September gathering.

We need candidates to fill some of your EOEE Board of Trustees positions for 2027. We need someone to serve on our communications committee and someone to be our Chrysalis liaison. If you are interested or would like to know more about either position, please contact Laurie Maltempi.

Your EOEE is a vibrant community of dedicated, 4th Day members who love their Lord and Savior. God provides so many blessings to each one of us. Help our community to continue to provide new 4th Day to be servants and disciples of Jesus Christ.

DeColores,
Ken Shillingburg
EOEE Community Lay Leader
