News from the Board

Greetings, EOEE 4th Day.

Much is happening in the Community as we move from summer to fall. So, you

might be asking, “What can I do to help as a Community Member”.

1. The Member at large and Nominating Committee are looking for Board members

to serve in 2026. There is a section in this newsletter that will let you know

the positions that are available for 2026, please prayerfully consider joining

the Board and let Laurie Maltempi know of your interest.

2. Teams for Walk 106 have begun their meetings to prepare for the pilgrims that

will be welcomed at Camp Wanake in October. Be praying for Walks 106,

signing up for the prayer vigil, preparing agape for the team and pilgrims

(table, general, food and personal), plan to attend Candlelight and Closing.

3. The Pre-Walk Committee are processing the applications from sponsors and

pilgrims. Currently we have 22 women and 2 men signed up for Walk 106.

We need the whole Community to find the men who God wants to be part of

Walk 106 and get their applications in as soon as possible, the deadline is

October 2nd .

4. The Community Trainer will be providing a Sponsor Training an hour before the

September Gathering. This training is very informative, and I would

encourage you to attend this training, in preparation to sponsor a pilgrim

for Walk 106.

5. The Communications Committee continue to keep us informed, with the

Newsletter and a much-improved website, along with working to find information

on the Reunion Groups functioning in the Community. I would ask you to go

check our website at www.EOEE.org – to see what is available. I would

direct you specifically to look in the “MORE” section and choose the “What is Emmaus?” from the pull down. This page is filled with all kinds of

information including a link to a video which you can watch and share with

potential pilgrims if you need help and information as a Sponsor.

6. The Walk Committee, Tech Committee, Procurement and Agape are in the midst

of assuring that all that is needed by the teams for the Walks in October will be

ready at the right times. Ask the Walk Committee, Tech Committee, Andrea

DeGraw and Kathy Ledsome how you can get involved as a volunteer in

preparation for and on the Walk Weekends.

7. The Post-Walk Committee put on a great picnic and praise gathering in August

and has plans for the September Gathering to emphasize Reunion Groups. Talk

to Laura Geiser and Kathy Grafe about your Reunion Group so that they

can provide your information to the rest of the Community at September

Gathering and on the website.

8. The Board has been working on revising the Bylaws and documenting Policies

and Procedures because we realized that many of them had mainly been handed

down through oral tradition. Come to the September Gathering as there will

be a time when we will be as a Community ratifying the revised Bylaws.
